Yesterday the dock light was working. When I took a container out or the bag, etc., it would turn red and back white when reinstalled. It is mot doing that today. I can take everything out of it and the light never changes. But I still get all the notifications in the app so it knows. The light is just not changing. Does that matter?

The indicator light activates component verification checks during machine startup (when initiating a cleaning task). No immediate light changes during charging mode are normal behavior.
