When using the mops, multiple strategies are available for carpets. One of these gives the possibility to dodge the carpets and simply clean the remaining parts of the room. This is pretty useful when one does not want the carpets to get wet because of the mops (even if they are lifted, they touch the carpets, specially long haired ones).
Excluding carpets leaves them uncleaned, so one can schedule a new cleaning phase based on just the carpet zone. Unfortunately, if carpet strategy is set to avoid carpets when cleaning, the mova refuses to reach the carpet zone even if it was the only zone selected.
This is a very usable feature and allows carpets to be threaten without any physical contact with the mops. TranslateView Original Text
